Passionate about increasing awareness and access to care for eating disorders, Dr. Lowenthal provides additional eating disorder services including professional consultation, patient advocacy and community outreach.
Professionals: One time or ongoing consultations for professionals from all clinical disciplines. Consultations can be conducted via phone, Skype/telemedicine or in person in the Bay Area.
Patients and Families: Second opinion consultations for patients and/or families who are not currently part of our practice.
Education Professionals: Consultations for teachers, school counselors, school administrators, coaches or other educational professionals
Treatment Programs: Consultations for treatment program administrators, clinicians and staff. Back-up medical coverage also available.
Dr. Lowenthal is an International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals (iaedp) - Approved Supervisor and Certified Eating Disorder Specialist (CEDS) who provides clinical supervision for RN, ANP, PA, MD, and DO clinicians working towards CEDS certification. Insurance Denials: Assistance with insurance denials for eating disorder treatment.

Dr. Lowenthal is a Board-Certified family physician specializing in concierge primary care as well as medical management of eating disorders. Practicing medicine since 2007, she is a graduate of the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine and completed her residency at University of California San Francisco (UCSF) where she served as Chief Resident. Named one of the East Bay’s “Best Doctors” in 2012, she is a six-time Patients Choice Award recipient and a four-time Compassionate Doctor Award recipient.
